Manufacturer Warranty
All Big Dig USA equipment comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, beginning on the date of delivery to the original purchaser. Some products carry a longer warranty (up to 3 years) — refer to the specific product listing for the applicable duration.
The manufacturer warranty is the sole warranty offered. Big Dig USA does not add a separate retailer warranty. We act as the purchaser's administrative liaison to the manufacturer's warranty program, which means: (1) you report warranty issues to us; (2) we verify eligibility and coordinate with the manufacturer; (3) the manufacturer ships warranty replacement parts directly or through us.
What the Warranty Covers
The manufacturer warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that cause the equipment to fail or operate improperly under normal use. Examples of covered issues include:
- Manufacturing defects in welds, castings, or machined parts that fail under normal operating load
- Hydraulic system leaks caused by seal or hose defects present at the time of manufacture
- Engine failures covered by the engine manufacturer's warranty (Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, etc.)
- Electrical control defects causing the unit to fail to start or run
- Frame or structural failures during rated-load operation
What the Warranty Does NOT Cover
The warranty is void and will not be honored for any of the following:
- Wear parts and consumables: blades, chains, belts, filters, spark plugs, hydraulic fluid, gaskets, bearings that have exceeded their service-hour rating, and similar items
- Improper fuel, oil, or hydraulic fluid: using non-specified fuel types, mixing fuel with incorrect oil ratio, using contaminated fluid, or failing to change fluids at the manufacturer's prescribed intervals
- Improper installation, assembly, or setup: including but not limited to incorrect PTO shaft installation, incorrect 3-point hitch attachment, operating at incorrect PTO RPM, improper electrical wiring for electric units
- Abuse, misuse, or unintended use: chipping materials exceeding the rated diameter, splitting logs exceeding rated length or diameter, using equipment for non-wood materials, operating past rated duty cycles
- Damage from acts of nature: flooding, lightning strike, hail, wind damage, ice damage, rodent damage, or contact with foreign objects (rocks, nails, metal debris) fed into chippers or splitters
- Damage from failure to maintain: neglecting lubrication schedules, failing to sharpen blades, running the engine low on oil, operating past service intervals
- Damage from modifications: aftermarket parts, modifications to the hydraulic system, electrical modifications, structural modifications, or repairs performed by anyone other than a manufacturer-authorized service technician
- Cosmetic damage: paint chips, rust on non-structural components, decal wear, dents or scratches that do not affect function
- Commercial rental use: equipment rented to third parties for a fee is not covered by the manufacturer warranty, regardless of the rental term
- Normal wear: equipment operates under load. Steel flexes, paint fades, bearings eventually wear out, hydraulic fluid degrades. The warranty is not a guarantee against age.
How to File a Warranty Claim
If your equipment develops a problem you believe is a covered warranty issue:
- Stop using the equipment immediately. Continuing to operate a defective machine can cause additional damage that is not covered.
- Email partshubhq@gmail.com with:
- Your order number and delivery date
- The product SKU and, if available, the serial number stamped on the unit
- A clear written description of the problem
- Photographs showing the defective area
- Video if the issue is mechanical or operational (roughly 30–60 seconds showing the failure mode)
- Your current maintenance records if applicable (fluid changes, blade sharpening, service hours)
- We will review your submission within 3 business days and confirm whether it qualifies for warranty review. If it qualifies, we will coordinate with the manufacturer to determine remedy (replacement parts, full unit replacement, or in rare cases, refund).
- The manufacturer may require the unit be shipped for inspection. In such cases, we will provide shipping instructions. The buyer pays return shipping for non-DOA warranty items; the manufacturer pays return shipping of the repaired or replacement unit.
Warranty Remedies
For valid warranty claims, the manufacturer — at the manufacturer's discretion — will provide one of the following:
- Replacement parts shipped to the buyer, with illustrated repair instructions
- A remote diagnostic service to help the buyer make the repair
- A manufacturer-authorized service technician dispatched to the buyer's location (rare, subject to manufacturer approval)
- A full replacement unit shipped on a standard delivery timeline
The buyer cannot demand a specific remedy. The warranty does not include compensation for downtime, labor costs to install replacement parts, income lost during repair, or any consequential damages of any kind.
Limitation of Warranty
THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY DESCRIBED ABOVE IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY PROVIDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIG DIG USA DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. BIG DIG USA'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY WARRANTY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY THE BUYER FOR THE SPECIFIC UNIT IN QUESTION.
State-Specific Rights
Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you in full. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
